Newcomer Pl511 sends us a delicate, somewhat melancholy solo piano medley from the Zelda series, including The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Majora's Mask, Twilight Princess, The Wind Waker, AND Skyward Sword. That's a lot of Zelda, especially for a mix that clocks in at 3'34", but it's all in there, and the presentation is cohesive:
"This is a piano arrangement of several Legend of Zelda songs that (for the first time almost XD) is actually playable by a solo performer (as you hear in the recording). As well as combining these 5 pieces, a lot of original interpretation as well as original composition has been included in the arrangement. I'm still a little unsure whether to put "Zelda's Lullaby" under Link to the Past or Ocarina of Time, but that's probably not an issue. I think that my personal favourite part of this arrangement was the writing in between "Zelda's Lullaby" and "Midna's Lament." It was a lot of fun coming up with the few linking parts of original composition, and getting everything to flow into each other properly was quite difficult. Hope you enjoy it!"
This isn't a showcase of flamboyant pianistic technique - as the artist writes, it's a very playable, approachable arrangement, which still benefits from an emotional performance but never goes crazy. The spotlight is really on the subtle, graceful ways the themes are woven together. Chimpazilla writes:
"The track is arranged medley-style, one theme following another, but it feels cohesive. You have added some really nice personality to each theme, and I hear that you've transitioned them *very* well so the track has good flow. The original transitions are short but nice and fitting. Lovely piece!"
Palpable adds:
"Piano sound is a little thin, but it's hard to deny that wonderfully written arrangement and expressive playing... Even knowing these sources well, it's very hard to spot the breaks between the songs - the flow is gorgeous. To all who are wondering how to do a medley that meets OCR's standards, this is how you do it."
Strong words, but yeah... pretty much. We don't explicitly forbid medleys, we just caution those attempting them, with the primary concern being "medleyitis" - definable as a medley that fails to provide any context or connectivity between multiple source tunes, which instead just jams them into a single piece of music & calls it a day. Happily, this is very much NOT that; as Vinnie mentions, this is actually an excellent counterexample to medleyitis, where everything jives to such an extent that you might not even realize the diversity of sources being arranged. Great stuff; a relaxing, if a bit introspective, and beautiful debut ReMix from Pl511!

Really good work! Any chance there's sheet music of this floating around? I'd love to learn this for myself!

A lovely arrangement, filled with emotions. The use of the different themes worked very well here. The performance/playing is great too. It's maybe a little too quiet at some points, but it's fitting to the remix's concept. Very nice, great job here!

Laments! Laments everywhere! No, but seriously, gorgeous piano work. There is plenty of emotion to be felt from this piece and the cohesiveness of the songs when put together like this to avoid the whole medleyitis issue is awesome. Very impressive and strong debut from PI511. Really liked this.

I love how this arrangement wanders through the history of Zelda and lightly touches upon some of its greatest themes. Excellently executed and easy to get lost in.
